The official opening date will be Saterday May 14th .
The second announcement we are pleased to present is the release of:
JOYCE
“Stele”
Chardonnay | Monterey
2010
The “Stele” Chardonnay project derived from the youthful inspiration of Russell Joyce. After traveling up and down California, working with distributors and tasting many wines Russell became aware of a growing trend in chardonnay drinkers. The trend was that although many still enjoy the essence of a rich chardonnay with oak and butter there are some that enjoy a more crisp balance of acidity and fruit unadulterated by any oak. As most of you are aware we do make our Joyce “Black Mountain Chardonnay” Santa Lucia Highlands 2009 which has a nice balance of secondary malolactic fermentation, oak and of course luscious Santa Lucia Highlands fruit but we wanted to offer our customers and alternative option. This option was brought to fruition by Frank and Russell Joyce and was named Joyce “Stele” Chardonnay. The word “Stele” is the phonetic spelling of “steel” which is referring to the cooperage used to create this chardonnay. This chardonnay was vinted in 100% stainless steel for only 9 months. To further the refreshing crispness’ and acidity in this wine malolatic fermentation was inhibited to allow the most true and raw expression of this premium Monterey county fruit.
Our third announcement is regarding the release of our newly designed labels and addition of “QR” codes to all wine labels produced by Joyce Winery from now on. The QR code will allow you as the customer to quickly scan the QR code on the back label of Joyce Wines which will take you directly to a mobile site in which you can find out more about that particular wine or any wine produced by Joyce Winery. Check up on food parings and recipes suggested with any one of our particular wines, check events, news and any other information regarding Joyce Vineyards. This mobile site will be updated frequently with news, events, awards, tasting, wine dinners, recipes etc. The specific QR code used on our labels is a Data Matrix QR code which works with most all-in-one QR code apps for smart phones.

Last but not least we are pleased to announce that we will be having a monthly free wine giveaway starting in May. If you sign up for our newsletter you will automatically be enrolled in our monthly drawing in which we will randomly draw three names from the list and send them a free bottle of Joyce Wine and complementary tasting at out new tasting room. Make sure to like us on Facebook and spread the word to your friends about signing up for our newsletter for the chance to win free tastings and a free bottle of wine.
