Vineyard:

The Black Mountain Vineyard is nestled in the heart of the infamous growing region of the Santa Lucia Highlands. This vineyard is nestled high in the SLH appellation back up against the Santa Lucia Highland mountain range which separates the Salinas valley from Carmel valley.  This special vineyard is composed of clones 667, 777, pomard 4 and 115.  The setting of this vineyard combined with the ideal climate conditions of mildly warm days and cool nights blanketed by costal fog allows these pinot noir vines to produce some the finest fruit the Santa Lucia Highlands appellation has to offer. This vineyard uses natural farming practices.

This Pinot Noir was aged in 45% of the finest tight grain Segium Moureau Burgundy Blend French oak barrels for 1 year 2 months.

Tasting Notes:

This pinot noir boasts big flavors of cherry, raspberry and cola upfront while then turning more elegant and sophisticated giving off hints of spice and acidity combined with a hint of oak which then leads into soft, smooth and silky finish with gentle but evident tannins.
